My reasoning for voting no godmode was because it just seemed useless. It doesn't change the ability to moderate at all, the only way it could help is if they settle an argument by killing someone, and only a tiny fraction of the world has pvp. And having it as something to make people want to apply for mod Isn't that good either. The reason they should apply is because they want to help, or at least they care. Also, we don't want every player applying for mod because sometimes they won't get it and rage quit, they might get but get demoted and rage quit or they all become staff and we have a full server full of staff.

For the complaining and leaving argument, that only really applies if our mods are using it to taunt other players, i wouldn't really be mad if someone somewhere on the server had godmode on.

Also for composers third point, they still have vanish.

Something a bit more positive, maybe instead of removing it for all mods, maybe we could give it to Archmod(not sure if this thread applies to them) so that our current mods strive to be their best so they can get Archmod(my statement for archmods may be completely wrong as I don't know all of their abilities are).

Anyway that was my reasoning.

I see no 'undo vote' button. I assumed that there were actually complaints about mods having godmodes, I assumed that's why Viper brought the issue up in the first place, but it's not, so I regret my initial vote.

I don't think having "godmode" is about how useful it is, I think it is a nice perk that moderators can and should have. I know that I never thought it was unfair when I was non-staff, and I am pretty sure everyone else feels the same. It is also a huge incentive to become part of the staff.

Yea but bacon who the fuck wants to stay on vanish? Honestly, it's just a luxury plus mods have been watered down a bunch. It's an incentive to mod regardless.

Mii, how the fuck is it useless? It's helpful because you cannot die, it's a LUXURY. Of course it wouldn't change the moderation it's a LUXURY. Solving an argument about PVP, who the fucks does that plus you're unable to kill people in Obsidia and godmode is unavailable to Mods outside of Obsidia and you address that it's a tiny bit, meaning it's difficult to do so anyways. It is important to have people want to apply for mod, why the hell do you think people apply in the first place? because they care? yes. because they get benefits? Of fucking course. and if we don't want every player applying for mod then why the fuck do we have a message that suggest people applying for mod at 100 hours, plus many people are driven from being a mod because of the responsibility that comes with it and the difficulty that comes with even getting it, and it's embarrassing to getting denied, and if they rage just ignore them obviously.

I don't see why mods can't have godmode. Godmode is an essential key to being an moderator because when you are trying to help someone you don't know if you can trust them or not. They might trick you into falling down a hole or fall in lava. A person also may some sort of redstone trap and if a moderator had godmode they would not have to worry about any of these issues. These issue may appear to you that they would never happen, but believe me some people are evil.

There has been quite a few good arguments for mods keeping god, yet only two main arguments for it being taken away - it being 'unfair' or 'unnecessary'.

I think it's fair to say that those two points have been pretty well smashed to pieces, and it would not be a good idea to go through with taking it away, seeing as, ya know, there's more votes for 'yes' than 'no' technically, and there are more and much better reasons here for keeping it than taking it.

I do realize that voting lasts another, what, 5 days(?), but unless the people on the 'no' side bring up some valid and strong arguments, I don't see that side winning.

I'm not saying it's useless, I'm saying it useless for mods to have. And any player can get trapped not just mods helping people. Mods should have luxuries, just godmode isn't one.

This is mainly based on what moderators need to moderate, not what perks they get as a moderator. And also there haven't been many reasons why it should be kept, only replies to reasons why it should go. Composer did bring up some one good point about from going to no god to creative but the main problem with that is them being able to edit anything, not that they can't die. If Archmod keeps god then they'll be able to learn before admin.

I don't see why it should go if there have been no complaints. It's a nice thing for mods to have, and it's a mods reward for being staff and helping out the server. Anything else a mod has only helps them to moderate.

They deserve SOME kind of luxury, and since god mode is something they already have, why take it away? Because it helps them? Well they're staff, so they should have SOME assistance. This would be different if we were trying to give them god, BUT the argument is to take it away, so the reasons for taking it away need to be strong to warrant it, and unless there are complaints the reasons stated hold no merit.

Your only argument is that it's a luxury that mods don't need, and doesn't help moderating and it's useless when it's useful for mods doing what they do, having fun moderating.

Funny thing is, that it's the ONLY luxury so taking this would effectively strip them completely of any sort of luxury.

They can also have coloured names and they get respect, but this isn't about luxuries. This is also something they applied for, and because we trust them, they got. But because they got something they want doesn't mean they automatically get everything else. We are very grateful for the work the mods do, but as soon as they apply, they are saying they are ready to handle the responsibility. We don't force random players to moderate for us, they chose to moderate. Moderator is a stepping stone to bigger and better things, and by proving themselves they can move on to those things, where plenty more luxuries await them.
