I agree Aspirant needs to go, but I'm not sure Acorn is much improvement. It's not like an acorn is considered higher than a peanut in all honesty. I don't think it would make a great second rank (especially with denizen afterward) because of that. I love peanut as an opening rank, but more serious ranks should follow. Just my two cents of course.
EDIT: The only idea I have for a name is Settler, since they are beginning to settle into the server before becoming Denizens. But to me, the name just doesn't seem visually appealing, so I'm iffy on it. [Image: ][Image: ] [color=#FF0000]Humans... Worthless creatures. To me, settler reminds me of the 1850's. And I think that Acorn fits the theme. Yeah, it is "silly" but keep in mind, most of the players here are 10. The only thing is, we don't want people to think the server is based off of nuts. That's just weird.

The thing is jojo, we don't want the main core of our players to be 10. The only way we'll attract people older is if the server itself starts to take itself a little more seriously.

OH, BUT IT IS!! I like where compy is going with this. But I'm not sure how silly 'Acorn' even is. It's a game and we're not exactly talking staff ranks.. so I'm not sure it's so bad. Post: #16

I think the reason I dislike Acorn is because it felt good to lose the Peanut rank and become Citizen (my experience). It felt good because Peanut's name in itself feels like joke. It's funny and draws you in, but it feels great to lose it and gain something that feels more like a real rank that is taken seriously. It felt like I was actually making progress. I don't think going from Peanut to Acorn would even come close to achieving that feeling. It wouldn't feel like you made any progress until you hit Denizen, which would the only rank name not staff to have any sense of seriousness about it.
Speaking of which it would make the rank name Denizen out of place. 2 ranks named after nuts and then Denizen? It would make getting Acorn even more of an empty feeling. Maybe if the last rank was a nut as well, but that would just be too far. Maybe I have too much of a serious face to get it, but I don't understand how going from Peanut to Acorn would make a player feel like they have achieved anything.
