This is the last post I am making in this thread until I get an answer to the questions at the end of this post because I am thoroughly fed up with this.
-Admins have EVERY perk in the book from creative to god mode, to creative, to world edit, and to name themselves what they want, when they want. MODS ONLY HAVE GOD MODE AS A PERK. Why are you so dead set on taking away the only perk they have EXCEPT maybe instant teleporting. They deserve SOMETHING for helping out the server. And if you bring up the fact that we would have mods only applying for god mode, does it really matter as long as they do their job? If there is a mod that only uses god mode and never does their job, odds are they won't be mod for long, which means every mod will still be helping out the server, whether that was their original intention or not. They will still be assisting the server.
-This change is unnecessary and has caused a bigger shitstorm than is needed. It is obvious to me that there is no clear majority supporting this change, so I don't understand causing an even bigger shitstorm by carrying it out. And if you guys make this change, willingly knowing the storm that will come even without a clear majority, I honestly don't know if I can continue being an ArchMod. I refuse to help out people who are just instigating a storm over a problem that doesn't seem to exist.
-Mods having god mode causes no damage to the server, so this change is not needed in the slightest. All this will do is cause anger, and will not help out the server in ANY WAY.
So I ask all who support this two questions:
Why do you feel this change is worth causing a shitstorm over?
Why do you think this change is needed for the server to improve?
I will no longer reply to any post that cannot answer these two simple questions, and I will simply keep referring to this post or one of the many others I have made as a reply to any other posts that are made.

I think I may be the only moderator saying this, but I agree with Viper. I've been able to do a bit too much with god mode. For example, farming mobs for experience for enchanted items has become so, so easy. In vanish mode, you can't hit mobs... So I have to vote to take away god mode from mods. It does, ultimately, unbalance us a bit too much. I do, however, agree with Mii that there should be something to distinguish us a bit more from ordinary players, some luxury that makes them look up to us. I'm not sure what this would be, though. That's a whole other debate.

Although you didn't answer my questions, I felt one point needed to be taken apart a little because I haven't seen it before. Farming mobs for xp is so EASY in Obsidia for multiple reasons. For one, you can just make a farm from a spawner once you find one then lolxp for days no matter WHAT rank you are. I had a skeleton spawner for a few months before I became mod, and it is just as easy now for me to get xp as it was then.
And did you forget the mob arena in the town of Obsidia itself? If you just spawn zombies, you will simply be able to farm xp all day without taking damage because of how easy they are to hit away from you. Again, possible as any rank. Your point on xp is completely moot in my opinion.

Well, compy, I wasn't doing my opinion in response to you. D: Honestly, I don't want it to change, I'm simply saying that I support the idea. Of course I want to keep my god mode, but I am simply recognizing that it is somewhat unbalanced.

So no one can tell me what else I've taken away from Mods?

Well this wasn't a 'shitstorm' till you manufactured it with this thread. If it was anything of the sort, beforehand, you warped it into this all by yourselves. You've given those who want to keep GodMode, a fortified stronghold to relax in, and their desire to keep it is justified by that.
I want to remove it because of the message it conveys; that being part of staff, automatically means you're allowed to play unfairly. Sure, this is ultimately not the case, now with all the changes I've made over the past year, but it's the message to the new players, that I care most about at this stage.
I am, however, satisfied with leaving GodMode for Moderators as it is, only on Obsidia and not on any other world, including the Nether. Because when Asyr is released, Obsidia will eventually become nothing but dust; where no one is interested enough to bother playing on it. And that is how I will remove our historical world.. it's only civil that way.
Guys, calm down, please. Enough of the flame wars.
*note* I just thought I would say I have read the first and tenth page of this thread. Unless it is necessary, I won't be reading the rest.
Such a sensitive topic. God mode indeed has both its advantages and disadvantages. For me, I think the main reason us moderators get God mode is so that we don't take damage. I feel like somebody is cheating (which, really, they are) if somebody uses it to gain an advantage in survival. For xp or otherwise.
Obviously, /vanish prevents incoming and outgoing damage, so you can't 'cheat' with the method above. As before, God mode is so that we don't take damage, and I only use it when I suspect somebody of something or when I'm not really playing (strolling around the world, on the path of life, or whatever). /vanish does the same thing, plus they don't know you're there.
My opinion? I don't really give a damn, as long as people stop demanding answers for questions (when, frankly, they are quite obvious).
Whether we like it or not, we will have a One World Government. The question is if it will be achieved through consent or through conquest.
And I don't care if you don't care.. I'd rather at least half of you guys who take this stance, actually make a decision instead.
Basically, you just explained how VanishNoPacket will do the job itself. And, I think, it's better suited for it.

I feel removing it conveys the message to the moderators that "you are not as important to us as the normal playerbase." That is why I am here defending it, until I feel there is a reason as to why it will IMPROVE the server by doing so.
If I am a new player on the server, how I play on the server is not affected by if mods have godmode or not. If I were a new player on the server, and i saw a mod with godmode I would think: "Hey, if I become good enough to become a mod, I can get a perk like godmode." Not everything is so black and white Viper. Not all the new members who come to the server will be so spoiled to think that they should have the same perks and status as STAFF.
And I'm willing to relent godmode in the Nether as long as it stays in Obsidia myself. While I'd almost rather keep it, the Nether IS meant to be a dangerous place.
Nothing comes to mind, but losing perma ban caused mods to lose quite a bit of power. (this may be a good thing, but it still happened.) I just feel like there isn't much given to mods, outside of what they need to do their job. My main worry stems from conveying a message to our mods that they aren't deemed important. But as with my comment above about how new players will perceive mods with godmode differently, mods will perceive this action differently as well.
(and yes I know mods are not afk kicked and don't have the teleport cooldown/wait time)
