Today, I installed a new Banning plugin called UltraBans. As you will see in the commands below, it is a lot more functional and many times more useful as we have it set up to print to a web page.

One compromise I had to make when changing to UltraBans is I can't set a maximum tempban. Please don't ban for longer than a month without consulting an Admin or ArchMod.

When a player is banned, instead of merely seeing a "You are banned" message when attempting to login, they see:
'You have been tempbanned by %admin% for %amt% %mode%s. Reason: %reason%'

All commands below with an * are saved to the our database and printed on this page http://mc.darkspin.com/bans

Although there are various IP commands below, please know you really won't need them most of the time, now that it's not so easy to use multiple accounts.

As for the warnings, please be smart with them because 2 warnings will have the player banned for 5 hours and the warnings don't have a cooldown as far as I can see, they'll just stick with the player and it resets when they're banned for it. We'll give this system a trial.

Yes, I know the web page is dull.. I'm gonna make it look nicer this week.

Creating Etceteria Circle Plots

Ahoy!

I'm very happy to announce that I'm nearly ready to release Etceteria and move the spawn there. As pretty much all staff know now, I've decided to make things harder by using circle plots! Here, I will give you the step-by-step tutorial on how to do it, and specifically how exactly I want it done in Etceteria.

You should all be well familiar with the cuboid selection, but this is not the time for the simplicity you're used to! WorldEdit also has POLY, CYL, SPHERE, and ELLIPSOID selections. Unfortunately, WorldGuard will only define regions with CUBOID and POLY selections. The devs plan to support the rest later down the track.

STEP 1:
Selection

//sel poly

Below is an example of how you should mark your selection points.
The DIAMONDBLOCK is LEFT-CLICK and the GOLDBLOCKs are all RIGHT-CLICK.
Make sure you follow this image exactly and be very careful not to accidentally click any other block because you'll have to start over.

Once you have done that,
STEP 2:
Expand

//expand 22 down (don't //expand vert because there's a mine below)
//expand 191 up (must be at least 191 to reach 256)

STEP 3:
Define Region

/region define etc_circle_# <player>

# is the number on the sign at the plot.
Not all the plots have regions set up yet, so if you have some time, it'd be nice if you guys could go around and do this. Just ignore <player>.

STEP 4:
Child/Parent
If you don't do this, members of the region won't be able to build.

/region setparent etc_circle_# etc

etc is the massive region covering spawn.

STEP 5:
Finished

//sel cuboid

If you don't do this, you won't be able to make cuboid selections again. It's easy to forget.

UPDATED FOR ULTRABANS
Always subject to change. Whining will be met with gofuckyourself

Moderator

Moderator is a huge privilege, with more permissions and commands than you would imagine they would have.

/kick <playername> <reason>   This particular forcibly removes a player from the server, normally as a punishment. You can add a reason to this command, which shows up on their disconnect message. For example;
/kick asshat1 griefing This would kick the player asshat1, and on his disconnect message screen, it would show ‘griefing’.

/tempban <playername> <datediff> This command kicks a player from the server, and also bans them, preventing them from rejoining for an amount of time mentioned. Unfortunately, you cannot add a reason to the end of this command. The format for the temporary ban times are as follows:
/tempban asshat1 1m    This would ban asshat1 for a total of 1 minute.
/tempban asshat1 1h    This would ban asshat1 for a total of 1 hour.
/tempban asshat1 1d    This would ban asshat1 for a total of 1 day.
/tempban asshat1 1w    This would ban asshat1 for a total of 1 week. It’ll show up as 7 days.

ArchMod+ Only /ban <playername> <reason> This command forcibly removes a player from the server, BUT, also prevents them from re-joining… Permanently.

ArchMod+ Only /unban <playername> This lifts the ban sentence from a player, and works with both permanent and temporary bans.

ArchMod+ Only /ipban <IP address> This command is recommended for a permanent ban, it prevents any account connecting from that IP to connect to the server. You can get the IP via /whois.

ArchMod+ Only /tempipban <IP address> <datediff> Fairly self explanatory. Temporary banning of an IP address. Similar to an IP ban, but you can add a time for the IP address to be banned for.

/mute <playername> <datediff> This prevents a player from using the normal chat, but be warned, the player can still use chat commands, such as /msg. The datediff is optional. Not having one equals a permanent mute, and having one equals a temporary mute. Refer to /tempban for datediff times. Also, type /mute <playername> once again to un-mute.

/vanish This command renders your character and nameplate COMPLETELY invisible, useful for spying on suspicious players. Type again to un-vanish.

/tp <playername> OR /tp <player> <player> The first one teleports you to <playername>, and the second specifies two players. The first player typed GETS teleported, and the second typed is where the first is teleported.

/god This command makes you completely invulnerable to any kind of damage. Type again to disable.

/a <insertmessage> This is admin chat, and the message you type gets shown only to mods +.

/seen <playername> This command allows you to see many statistics of <playername>. All of these stats MUST remain private. I cannot stress that enough.

/realname <nickname> This command allows you to find out the real In-Game-Name of a nicknamed player. This does not work with coloured nicknames. EDIT: Now it does. Merely type the name, without colours and it works.

/tphere <playername> A lazier form of teleporting a player to you; It only requires one playername, and that player will be teleported to you.

Here is the tutorial on the ChestShop for players~

It won't be but so formal unlike other tutorials normally are, simple, short and sweet.

Materials:
1 Sign
1 Chest
The Actual thing you are going to sell
Common sense
Citizen or Higher ranking (This was unrepresented to me the other night?)

And you must put the sign directly above the chest for it to work like so:

I have a diagram which is IS VERY helpful when it comes to making these shops it is directly below this sentence.

As you can see the text on the sign distinguishes different things which are important and makes it so the plugin is successful and if you fail to type this correctly simply ask a friend or admin to help you test it out.

Again as the diagram states it is VERY important before you begin to write down the text on the sign you must protect the chest or at least don't put any goods in it until you are sure the chest you are running a shop from is working correctly.

(More notes: Very Important)

You should vary the prices lower or very similar to the Adminshop so that others will want to buy it, the final note a very important one is KEEP IT STOCKED WELL!! Without goods no sales can be made!

SUPER IMPORTANT: The placement of your shop will determine the sales you make!
Place the in towns such as: Epicville, Nordsburg and places like that.
THAT IS ALL!!!!!

I am done here thanks for reading and watch our for more tutorials from Zahn97!!
