Hello everyone!

So, as I'm sure many of you know Minecraft 1.7 is on its way shortly, Mojang is even saying if things go according to plan it will be released this Friday, the 25th of October. This has kind of crept up on me, and I was not expecting this update so soon, even though I have been keeping tabs on it.

So a huge issue, as well as a huge bonus arises with this update; new Biomes. I've given this a lot of thought, and I've ruled out starting a new world, because that's not reasonable, and manually deleting all the unused chunks so they can reload but that would consume a ridiculous amount of time and we only have a few people who are able to do that.

So, what I propose:
The best solution that I have come up with is cutting down the WorldBorder by more than half, to roughly 3500 blocks (I'm open to negotiation) and then, deleting all the chunks outside of that so that they can regenerate. What does this mean? It means we need to check the location of everyone's builds, and if it doesn't fall within 3500 blocks of spawn, We will move it using WorldEdit.

This is going to require a huge amount of cooperation for it to go smoothly. We need to get as many people on-board as possible, so that we don't miss a build. It will be difficult, yes and will require a lot of work. But this means that we will be able to get the most of the new update.

In the rare occasion that something does go wrong, and means that we miss someone's house I am willing to offer compensation depending on how often they play, and what their past looks like (Bans, warns etc.)

I will be very grateful for those that will make a significant contribution. You will be rewarded.

Well hello everyone!

As the title suggests, a World border has been introduced for the main world (Obsidia)

Now, before you start yelling at me saying "NOW WE CAN'T EXPLORE NEW PLACES D:" The world border starts 8000 blocks from spawn, which I think is an ideal balance which permits future growth/exploration and justifies a World Border at all.

So why did I introduce this, you may ask? Well for starters it increases the performance of the server, making all your experiences more enjoyable because of a lag reduction, which is great for all players, even making it more bearable for folks over my side of the rock. I honestly noticed an improvement right after installing it. Also, if you all want a World download at some stage, it will mean the file will be a significant amount smaller.

I think I've made sure that everything important falls within the border, but if you happen to have any of your constructions Beyond the World Border, please let me know and I'll happily move it inside for you!

You can easily see the border from the Dynmap (http://map.darkspin.com) it's represented as a red line in a circle, with spawn in the very centre. You'll also notice that only about 1/3 of the map is explored within the zone, and a tiny percentage has any sign of life whatsoever.

So that's about it! If you guys have any questions/statements to make, feel free to post something below. Also, if you notice any issues notify me immediately please.

NOTE: If we ever get to the stage where we explore/populate all of the area within the border, I'll happily expand the area, or remove the plugin completely.

Thanks guys!

Hai Guys!

Well, over the past little while, Bino and I have been working on a brand new world for you all!

This is a hardcore world, where griefing/raiding/pvp is permitted, so it's best that you make a secret underground base, and that you be careful when choosing who you trust. Also, there is no Deadbolt to protect your precious belongings ;3

Band together, or be a lone wolf, it's entirely up to you. There are 3 lava lakes close to the centre of the map, where you'll be able to find soul sand etc.

The map has a history of intense seismic/volcanic activity, meaning that there are many interesting Geological features scattered everywhere, the main attraction is the remains of a giant volcano in the centre of the map.

While the entire world itself is visible from map.darkspin.com, you will not be able to see the location of players, for obvious reasons.

Permissions are locked down big time. None of the staff ranks, have any advantage whatsoever over non-staff (Yes, that's including Admins)

You can get to the world by going through the portal at /spawn, it's the one made of quartz. You can see what the world looks like >>Here.<<

Enjoy!
Over the course of the day, you may have noticed that my behaviour has been "rather odd"
This is because I let my mate on for the day, so he could build me a sugar cane farm.
I'm not fully aware of what he has done, but he has said he has got me banned temporarily.
He would like me to apologize on his behalf to the following people:
Mikey
Comp
Meat
Major
Scyth
That is all the people that he has told me he was irritating (Sorry if I left anyone out). I'm extremely sorry that you have all had to deal with this childish, and vile behaviour, and I hope you can accept my apology. This will never happen again.
Keep up the good work everyone,

1.2.4 Update

"The 1.2.4 update is now available for Minecraft! Mojang has been hard at work squashing bugs, and the inclusion of the Bukkit team has allowed a larger list of items to be covered in a short time.

Found here on minecraft forums home page.

Fixed:
>Chat history and much better chat editing
>A few new decoration blocks
>“Back” and “Quit” buttons to OutOfMemoryScreen
>Made cats more realistic (read: probably annoying). I hope it’s enough to cancel out any joy you may receive from the previous feature!
>Added a “minimal” debug menu for testing with. Shift+F3 to hide the graphs.
>Made placing half blocks on existing half blocks (to make a full block) easier
>Limit framerate on menu screens, no longer uses 100% cpu and make my computer melt
>Fixed fatal crash for converted worlds to anvil, when there’s blocks at max height
>Fixed an old bug with signs clearing text while you’re editing them in SMP
>Fixed crash when logging in while there are blocks at maxheight at spawn
>Fixed TNT ghosts in multiplayer
>Fixed storage minecarts dropping enchanted items
>Fixed crashes on invalid server addresses when joining a server
>Fixed entities being uninteractable if they existed at login (Multiplayer)

>Fixed dupe exploit with paintings
>Fixed furnaces and dispensers dropping enchanted items
>Fixed the “flickering” of chat as it vanishes off the screen
>Fixed text rendering over items in the container screens
>Fixed exploit with jungle saplings (turns other saplings into jungle ones)
>Fixed launcher opening minecraft dir if the path contains a space
