Hi, Mr.Minority here, and I'd like to say that I'm absolutely SICK of all the apps that are three sentences long. So, in an effort to get rid of all the terribad apps, I'm going to show you how to PROPERLY apply to a staff position.
Let's get started shall we?
I'm going to start with the most common rank application that fills up most of the entire sub-forum, which are mod applications.

Pretty convincing right? Now let's look at an app that is pretty terrible by comparison. http://forums.darkspin.com/showthread.php?tid=83
Notice the difference? [size=xx-small](If you don't please kill yourself.)[/size] Saint's mod application was well thought out, showed exemplary amounts of maturity, and had what I like to call "The bane of new players." He had proper grammar and spelling.
Before you get depressed because you can't form a coherent sentence, please realize this: not everyone is out to get you. If you're nice enough, I'm sure there are some people who will gladly proofread your app. If you can't find anyone, please ask an english teacher. Doing this will VASTLY increase your chances, because most of our admins like being able to read what you typed.
Now let's get to the app. I'm going to show you what goes on EVERY GOOD moderator app. This is of course the default format that everyone uses. Before you go all "Hurr durr, who doesn't use the template lol?" you'd be surprised how many don't. If you said "There's a template?!!!" instead, you are most likely not getting any sort of rank anytime soon. (Please note that the template should be present in your app)

Please please PLEASE do not write one sentence or give a bullshit response like "lots of ppl say im helpful so das y im appliing lol." We do NOT give ANY fucks about what other players say. (If someone on staff says you should apply, that's a completely different story.) What most admins look for in this category is actual experience in solving conflicts and some sort of logical reasoning as to why you should be staff.
[size=large]What do you think it takes to be a good Moderator?[/size]
Once again, do not give us bullshit one sentence answers. DO give us logical, convincing reasoning that shows both your maturity level and shows that you can be a competent moderator
[size=x-large]Have you played at least 80 hours?[/size]
Personally I'd prefer if you answered with a complete sentence, but a simple "Yes." will do here if you have 80+ hours. The recommended amount however is 100+, so keep that in mind. Please please PLEASE do not make an app if you have not played AT LEAST 80 hours.
[size=x-large]Tell us a little bit about yourself, your gameplay and what you think of the server.[/size]
This is the bragger's area to shine. If you've built any impressive structures, have a very interesting life, were born with 3 nipples, etc. post it HERE.

If you have any impairments that prevent you from doing your job effectively, please post it here. Most of the admins do actually have feelings, and will be considerate if you are honest. Don't be TOO honest though, if you say you griefed at any point in time you will be b&.
[size=large]Have 3 admins confirmed they trust you? If so, ask them to post a comment approving on your application. Or, any admin can post here. A list of eligible admins will be included with the command list.[/size]
If you talk to admins beforehand, you have a much higher chance of them approving you in the comments.
[size=large]If you are confirmed, do you swear not to use your powers for stupid/irresponsible/revenge purposes?[/size]
A simple yes will do.
[size=large]Do you agree to the fact that if you are inactive for a month, your Moderator rank will be revoked?[/size]
Just say yes.
Ta daa, you just wrote a decent app. Note that you are NOT guaranteed to get the rank if you follow these directions. Sometimes there aren't positions available, sometimes shit happens, and sometimes we just don't like you.
