Asyr Info
Post: #1
Right! Now that my part of external Asyr work is done (though i still have to do a few in game things)

I figured i'd share a bit of info with you about it.

Firstly, here is a biome map of Asyr, i just thought people may find this useful to find a specific Biome or village. However, this map represents the biome of the seed for the world. This does not include the custom terrain. So i big you luck finding an area that is not covered by the custom world.

Secondly. Fun fact, it takes 15mins to "walk" from spawn to any of the factions.

Thirdly. After the world is available for use, i was considering creating an opposite of the Nether, ye know, an Aether.

Basically i just wanted to make a floating island dimension with which could be used to fast travel around Asyr. I'll update this post later with a render of my considerations.

Do you think it's a good idea to make an Aether fast travel?

If the factions are supposed to fight, an Aether might make an easy way for an enemy faction to sneak into your faction base.

Hmm.. Good point you have there...
Wait that would mean they could do the same with the Nether...
Interesting.
I'm gonna have to investigate that.

Edit: Good news. Turns out that if a player uses a portal to enter an area they're not supposed to be in (i.e. an enemy faction base) the portal simply won't work.

I've been meaning to ask, what all's being moved over? When will they be moved over? And when is the soonest we could expect Asyr to be up and running?

*insert deep quote/completely original joke here*

Soonest Asyr will be up is when we've done the regions and walkthrough.
We've done the roads and the spawn. Now we just need the walkthrough and the regions.
Now where's viper when i need him to talk about the rules in the walkthrough..

RULE 1: Making towns is for asshats with nothing better to do but take up space.

“What passes for hip cynical transcendence of sentiment is really some kind of fear of being really human, since to be really human [...] is probably to be unavoidably sentimental and naïve and goo-prone and generally pathetic.” --David Foster Wallace, Infinite Jest
