Factions and Asyr
Post: #11
On the subject of towns, I was thinking that in order to mantain support and protection, towns must pay an annual tribute to whatever faction they are allegianced to. Also, I was thinking that merchants could go between any factions without a problem, so long as they do not stir up any trouble.
Also, perhaps to join a faction, people must take a quiz which will determine whatever faction they are best suited to. This would prevent people from all joining the Good faction.
On another note, I was thinking that unprotected towns (ones which do not pledge their allegiance to a faction via tributes) can be claimed and pillaged by factions and groups, even during times of peace.
On the subject of groups, perhaps groups can pledge allegiance to a faction and gain protection and support, but they have their own set of ideas and can go to war without harming the faction they belong to? So pirates could belong to the Neutral faction, but they can go to war, unlike the rest of the faction. Or zombies would belong to the Evil faction, however, everything they do is seperate from the rest of the faction. But when their faction needs them, they will still help the faction.
Also, moderators would be ambassadors of factions OR, if they choose, leaders of a group. They can only choose one. I don't like the idea of Ops/Admins ruling over factions. I think they should be in a faction of their own, like gods. Factions and groups would do their bidding, like a religion or something. I think that Artisans should rule the factions, seeing as they are trusted and powerful, but not in a godly sort of way.
Finally, NO HEAVY WORLDEDITING WITHOUT PERMISSION. It has eternally scarred what used to be Obsidia. (which could be explained by Asyr legend to be where the gods turned against each other)

Woah now [Image: ] we wouldn't want to seem obsessed with power would we? Acting as gods seems so very lame, you might as well just change your rank to "Im Better Than You".

Also. To the other admins.

Obsidia is covered with huge spheres and ugly biodomes.
I sorta meant that the faction leaders (artisans) would take guidance from their patron "gods." For example, how to make more money for the faction.
I just meant that Admins and Ops are simply too powerful and busy to run a faction full-time. Not only do they have to deal with plugins and major moderation, they also have the ability to do... anything. Simply not enough time, and too much temptation. Artisans have all the abilities needed to run the faction, but don' t have to deal with as much stuff as the Admins and Ops.

Admins and Ops, or "Gods," could serve as guiding faction members (nicknames and ranks) and keeping chaos from taking over the land (plugin management).
EVIL FACTION: The Eastern Rim
Neutral Faction: The Interrim
GOOD FACTION: The Western Rim

Northern and Southern edges of the world would be wild lands, where the majority of wars and pillages would take place. (these areas are unclaimed, so many towns and provinces will be made here)
The whole world of Asyr is surrounded by mountains. I suppose that once everyone has settled in, the Factions will begin construction on their own ways to dig through them.

Actually, the good faction is on the West side of the map on a giant snow biome island.
While the evil faction is on the east side of the map, in a custom hellish biome.
Neutral can be wherever i guess.

Actually the world of Asyr is surrounded by shattered earth, i.e. the land breaks apart into islands separated by the void at the far edges. Though i may perhaps have made that void gap fairly large. [Image: ]

I really like the new world idea. Everywhere I go on the server is mostly buildings that people don't even use anymore. I really want to start over again :) Make a brand new house and all the stuff you do when you barely log into a server you have never been on. Chopping that first tree down making your house. Mining for DIAMOONNNDSSS:heart:
And especially finding new places. A lot of people like playing faction servers. So with the faction idea we are going to be able to meet alot of new people! I am really looking forward for the asyr world and the factions too. :)

Paper, Mikey, and I were discussing Factions and Asyr's geography, and we strayed to the fact that Paper is an extremely good mayor. So we were thinking that perhaps since Papertropolis is the most popular city in all Obsidia, it could become the center of Asyr, being the capital of the Neutral Faction.

On another note, every faction should have different advantages. Neutral Faction members, for example, should be able to go into whatever territory they want without a threat, since they are mostly merchants and traders.

And Evil Faction members can be resistant to lava, as they are acustomed to a hot enviroment. Alternatively, Good Faction members would be able to breathe underwater.

Finally, I DO NOT like the idea of an Evil and a Good Faction. They are both warlike, so they must both be power crazed, just in different ways.

When the factions do come out can we not have them being called 'Evil' and 'Good'. The names aren't very creative...

Just two factions seem a bit boring also. There's no other factions to ally with or attack.

Could have a few Factions, each under the specific Allegiance of good or evil. i.e. they have a common goal, but may still fight among eachother if it so benefits them.

[Image: ] I should probably have mentioned those aren't the faction names, just what they represent.
